Barry Gibb led a heartfelt tribute to his brother Robin on Friday, telling mourners at the singer's funeral in Thame, Oxfordshire that his fellow Bee Gee, who died May 20 at age 62, was taken way too early.

"Life is too short," Gibb said during his eulogy. "In Robin's case, absolutely too short. We should have had 20 years, 30 years of his magnificent mind and his beautiful heart."

Gibb remarked on the bond that Robin had with his twin, Maurice, who died in 2003, and seemed to find comfort that they are now reunited.

"When you're twins, you're twins all your life," he said. "You go through every emotion. And they're finally together. I think the greatest pain for Robin in the past 10 years was losing his twin brother, and I think it did all kinds of things to him.

They were both beautiful. And now they're together. They're actually together."

Gibb somberly laid a rose on his brother's resting place as hundreds of well-wishers lined the streets of the southern England town where Gibb lived for many years. According to The Independent, mourners wept as Robin's white coffin entered the church as "How Deep Is Your Love" played.

"So many people loved this boy, so many illustrious people are here that loved him. And that is such a pleasure to witness," he said during the eulogy. "The three of us have seen a lot of crowds but I've never seen so much love in one crowd as I'm looking at today -- for Rob, you know, for the music. And it's an intense experience for me."

Close relatives and friends in attendance included Gibb's widow, Dwina, his sons RJ and Spencer, and Sir Tim Rice and Uri Geller. The family matriarch, Barbara, is said to have left the service before Barry made his remarks.

Robin Gibb died May 20 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Maurice died at 53 in 2003 of complications of a twisted intestine, and youngest brother Andy died at age 30 in 1988 due to an inflammation of his heart. Barry Gibb, the eldest, is the only surviving brother.
