Brass Knuckles is rapper Nelly's fifth studio album released on September 16, 2008 after several delays.
The first single was "Wadsyaname", which was released digitally on August 21, 2007. However, because of the pushed release dates from October 16, 2007 and on, the first official single was changed to Party People, with "Wadsyaname" not appearing on the album. The Jermaine Dupri produced "Stepped on My J'z" (featuring Ciara and Jermaine Dupri) is the official third single with a video that premiered on June 11, 2008 on BET's Access Granted.
Reviews for the album have been generally mixed. The Boston Globe stated, "Brass Knuckles is 14 songs long. All of them could be singles. None of them could be hits." Vibe stated that "Brass Knuckles is standard Nelly fare."
Brass Knuckles debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 selling 84,000 copies in its first week.
