The Fame is the debut album by American pop singer and songwriter Lady GaGa. GaGa worked closely with producers RedOne and Space Cowboy. The album is closely preceded by her debut single, "Just Dance", which was released on June 17, 2008, and would top the Australian and Canadian music charts.
In a Gakcity.com interview, GaGa confirmed that track #8 would differ on each version of the CD depending on location, with Europe having "Vanity", the U.S. receiving "Starstruck" (produced by Martin Kierszenbaum and Space Cowboy) and the rest of the world (excluding Europe) receiving "Money Honey" (produced by RedOne). However, it has been revealed that the October 28, 2008 U.S. release and the rest of the world (Japan, China, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Australian) have the same 15 track album as listed below. The song "Vanity" has leaked in full, as a single exclusivly for Rhapsody.
The full album leaked onto the internet on August 19, 2008, 1 hour and 13 minutes prior to officially being available for purchase on iTunes. The title song "The Fame" (produced by Martin Kierszenbaum) is the theme song for the Australian version of Make Me a Supermodel.
There are two versions of The Fame, the original version was released in Canada, Europe and Australia. An updated version was released in the U.S. and will be released in the U.K. and other international territories when the original version is sold out, where it will be re-issued.
