Jonas Brothers is the self-titled second studio album released by the Jonas Brothers. It is their first album to be released under the Hollywood Records label. The album was released on August 7, 2007. "Hold On" was the album's first single, followed by "S.O.S.". The CD was the first to be released using CDVU+ technology.
A bonus edition of the album, titled Jonas Brothers: Bonus Jonas Edition, was released on October 30, 2007. This edition of the album, along with the sales of the original edition, sold over 200,000+. The phrase 'Bonus Jonas' is the nickname used to refer to the Jonas Brothers' younger brother, Frankie,age 5 who is not part of the band, and requested in one of the brothers youtube videos the fans buy him the populr toy of kids 'webkinz'.
Due to the increasing sales of the album, and the group's growing fan base, Live Nation and the group a two year, two million dollars touring deal. The deal, which is the first of it's kind for an upcoming act, is expected to include over 140 arena dates during the 2 years.
The album debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 with 69,000 copies sold in its first week.[2] In its second week it slipped to number 8, selling 41,000 copies. It fell further to number 11 in its third week. At that point, it had sold a total of 145,000.
The album stayed in the Billboard Top 20 the first 5 weeks of its release. On December 12, 2007 the album rose to #15, selling 71,000 copies, before slipping to #20 the next week with sales of more than 50,000+ copies. On January 1, 2008 the album fell to #22 selling less than 35,000 copies.
